On the 9th of April 2025, the Macmerry Men’s Shed sadly lost one of our earliest members, Bill Ramsay.
Bill was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet and, even though he was a man of few words, his personality and smile filled any room he was in. Bill had a sixth sense when it came to finding things in the Shed. If you had been looking for 45 minutes for a specific thing, but had no luck, Bill would have it in your hand within 45 seconds. If Bill wasn’t helping the guys with things, you would usually see him with a pool cue in hand having a game, usually pulling off some kind of shot that defied the laws of physics. If other guys were playing pool, Bill was always on hand with a supportive shout of “erse” if you hit a bad shot.
Bill was such a big part of our Shed, and he is sorely missed by all our members.
